This week we’re focusing on family-friendly, simple recipes and ingredients to balance out your extravagant Thanksgiving feast! We’ve selected each recipe by special request from the young people in our family, because as we all know – when the children are happy, everyone is happy! For those of you looking for Thanksgiving recipes and ingredients, please select your favorites à la carte in our “Fruits and Veggies” section.
One dish we are really looking forward to is the Felafel Pita Pockets, and we are including organic Felafel mix from a local farmer’s market vendor — this will be fun to roll into balls with your kids or young relatives, and stuff into pita pockets with some fresh veggies and small batch lemony hummus from Baba Foods in SLO.
And then, on the theme of family – and in this case the First Family! – we have Michelle Obama’s recipe for Cauliflower Mac & Cheese, her family’s favorite dish, and ours too!
Of course, the omnivores can’t go wrong with simple Cook Pigs pork chops, skillet chicken thighs or classic shepherd’s pie.
