Here in Southern California we’re lucky enough to have year-round access to some of the best produce in the country, such as strawberries, but it’s always a little heart-wrenching to see those towering pyramids of sweet corn, flats upon flats of fragrant peaches, and rows of knobby heirloom tomatoes disappear. As autumn approaches, let’s enjoy what’s left of this glorious California season that’s spoiled us with such lush produce.
It’s time to celebrate the last hurrah of our summer favorites: basil, tomatoes, bell peppers, and the ubiquitous summer stone fruit. Our recipes for Stone Fruit Cobbler and Tomato Panzanella invoke the sweet ending of a season. Here they are to for you to enjoy. Goodbye to summer!
